- Reviewed in the United States on October 14, 2016I really enjoyed reading the scenarios in the book, a lot of them make you think, as well as prepare you for the upcoming reading following the scenarios. The scenarios are also memorable as they were brought up in class many times.
I was confused about which book was the newer/latest version, it is this one. Ethics and Technology: Controversies, Questions, and Strategies for Ethical Computing. While the older version is this one, Ethics and Technology: Controversies, Questions, and Strategies for Ethical Computing
- Reviewed in the United States on February 11, 2018Great book that I had to get for a graduate course at Georgetown. This text covers a great amount of material that a cybertechnologist should consider while working with and around cybertechnology.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2017Excellent book, good organization, outstanding examples and solid discussions on the issues of cyber-ethics. Would recommend for course and individual study.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 30, 2016The kindle ebook format is very limiting especially for reading purposes. I know it does not have anything to do with the book which is good but kindle DRMs are a serious restraint especially when it comes to notes and annotations.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2018Don't sleep on ethics. This is a great book.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 19, 2019DRM ruins this book. It's ironic seeing how DRM is a topic discussed in this book. I can't dark theme it. I can't text-to-speech anything. I can't remove those stupid dashed words that get put at the end of lines because the justified alignment would have made awkward spacing between words. I would rather have left-aligned text or awkward gaps than have words cut in half. I also can't adjust the font size independent from the page zoom.
Meanwhile, anyone who pirated PDF versions from earlier editions have ways to work around some of these annoyances. All this Kindle version does is punish your paying customers with an inferior product.
Also, in all the chapters, the point could have be said in probably less than half the amount of words it took in this book. It felt like it was artificially fluffed up with extra padding to extend the length of the book.
