London-based interiors expert Joanna Thornhill's work spans commercial styling and creative direction for brands, writing and compiling design, craft and how-to articles and features for magazines, curating monthly trend reports for global forecasting agency WGSN and latterly moving into teaching and content creation, working as a regular Guest Lecturer at the KLC School of Design as well as creating ad-hoc courses and workshops for clients and her own platforms. Breaking down the ways our home (and the colours, shapes, materials and accessories we bring into it) can help support our overall wellbeing, this book delves into the science of why certain spaces affect our mood in particular ways, and how we can use this to our advantage when decorating. Touching on topics ranging from minimalism and feng shui to the NASA-proven ways plants can help lower our blood pressure, each talking point is well researched and full of actionable ideas.

- My Bedroom is an Office and other Interior Design Dilemmas (Laurence King Publishing, 2019)

Part coffee table book, part reference guide, My Bedroom poses a number of pertinent design dilemmas, including what to do if your workspace IS in a corner of your bedroom, along with other common questions, such as whether to go open-plan, to how you can bring in an industrial warehouse aesthetic when you live in a suburban semi. Each spread is standalone, focusing on one question and its possible solutions, making it very easy to dip in and out of.

- Home For Now (CICO Books 2014, re-released as Insta Style for your Living Space, 2018)

Aimed at renters and first-time buyers who are limited by budget or the restrictions of their landlord, this book offers thrifty, creative and out-of-the-box decorating ideas, encouraging those in a stepping-stone home to see the advantages this can bring and have a little fun. Packed with styling ideas and simple makes, it proves an invaluable read for anyone looking to set up a new home.
