After Many Hours And Failed Attempts Trying To Find Something "Just Right", I Found It

Spent many hours looking for a good journal/notebook to use. Had tried Rhodia, Amazon's, etc. They were all good in their own right, but I had very specific requirements in mind:
- Very rigid binder/cover so that I did not have to worry about the pages getting torn or the notebook getting warped.
What they use is a faux leather type of material which is attractive and has a nice texture
- Grid (graph paper) design so that I could align my content in an orderly and consistent fashion
Just the right size grid (at least for me) so that I can easily write in the rows and works well for the boxes you use with bulleting
- Small enough to be portable and fit into my favorite shoulder bag (Vanquest)
I do like the size and it works for me but I would LOVE if it would just be 1-inch longer and wider so that I could include more content
- Durable spine that would not result in pages being easily torn
No complaints. As you lay it flat, you can barely see the stitching which is GOOD to see because it means it is more than an adhesive
- Designed to be written on fronts and backs of pages ("lie flat")
I am halfway through the pages on my first one and it is easy to write on both - will get easier as I move to the back
- Has enough pages to make it useful for a longer period of time (longer being somewhat arbitrary in terms of what others might think)

I thought the pen holder on the exterior of the spine was a silly gimmick when reading reviews and seeing pictures, but I actually use it regularly. I now expect to always have a pen because I store it there. It does not hurt the pages the way I would have expected.

I also thought the elastic loop to keep it closed was gimmicky and would just be in the way. It does not get in the way and I use it regularly. It keeps the book from opening needlessly and potentially getting the pages damaged.

I don't think I noticed in the description or reviews that there is a small pocket on the back cover. Turns out to be very helpful. I keep a small, thin Westcott ruler in their to help me with some of the diagramming I sometimes need to do.

What I also love is that the price is reasonable and sustainable in terms of my buying these in the future. This is my first time to really try using the "bullet" method for journaling and so it is a relief to not be looking anymore and wasting money and time on returns for notebooks that don't work. The only negative I can call out (see above) is a size 1 inch longer and wider - but I can live with this size and it is easy to carry with me.

My only complaint is that I'm close to filling this one up and would like to buy more, but it only comes in one color. I wish the colors they offered for their other types of notebooks were available for the lined grid as well. If you've ever opened a new hardcover book, you know the spines are usually pretty stiff. When it comes to lay-flat books and notebooks, unfortunately the spine has to be thinner and more flexible to actually lay flat. It's just the way it is. When reading the reviews for this notebook, the only real problem people seemed to encounter was the spine cracking. This seemed like the perfect journal for my needs though, so I decided to risk it and take preventative measures when I got it to keep the spine strong.

First off, I received this at the end of December, which means the package was cold when it got to me. I took it out of the box and let it sit for a bit before attempting to open it. I figured it being cold for a long period of time would make the glue a little more brittle. Once it was room temperature, I followed the steps in the diagram I've included. (I did it one page at a time instead of a few pages at a time though, and smoothed my finger along the inner edge for each one to make sure it was laying flat.) Once I did this, I repeated it in reverse when closing it. After I repeated that a couple of times, I flipped through the pages in both directions a few times. It might seem like a pain, but it only took me about ten minutes, and is completely worth it in my opinion. After I was done, the spine felt much more flexible. I will probable do this occasionally to keep it nice and limber. Honestly, lay-flat spines are never going to be as durable as normal ones. I hate writing in notebooks that barely open though, so this little bit of extra work wasn't really a hardship for me.

The pen holder got a little squished in the box, but holds my pens just fine. The pages are nice and thick, and the grid isn't skewed at all. I will try and update this review once I've used it a bit to show how it has held up.

I have previously used a variety of notebooks over my career and schooling. I am a Mechanical Engineer, so I always need to have a notebook on hand to jot down notes, ideas, or designs. I also love using graph paper as i find it easier to both write and draw on the same sheet, while also having rough guidelines for scaling a design. All styles of these notebooks are relatively the same, but the biggest issue I found myself having was the paper to write, but no pen to write with! I dislike carrying a pen in my ear as it is uncomfortable, and I don't like to put them in my pocket as I've had a few explode and ruin my pants. I've had to resort to simply carrying it in my hands along with the notebook, and having to travel all over my project, the pen will disappear before the day is over. So when I saw the same style of notebook I like, with graph paper, and a pen holder, I was pretty much sold on it. The pen holder is attached to a soft spine which allows you to open the book easily even if there was a pen in the loop. There spine and the cover are sewed together and are durable enough for me to take it on construction sites and throw it around in my bag. The paper is also of high quality, and is heavy enough for me to write on and flip through without having to worry about tearing the paper. I've had it for a while now and it still holds up well. I have even gotten a few of my coworkers to buy this notebook as well since it is both stylish and of excellent quality. I will continue to purchase these notebooks throughout my career as they fit all of the requirements I need.

Would buy others that want one and 100% recommend it. The 'Leather' covers are fantastic and have held up over the last 2 years. with no damage, the elastic that holds the book closed is still functioning as is the elastic on the end for holding a pen.
There is a little fraying on one end, however this does not affect the fit, form or function of the notebook.

Actually only wrote the review as I wanted another one with plain paper instead of grid. Great product, might have to buy a couple of each incase they stop being made. So I have some spare for the future.

I have added some images of the note pad 2 years later. Which has held up extremely well. The 'Santa' minion was coloured with pen, and the bob from bobs burgers was all pencil. (I haven't stuff like this in over 18yrs)

Excellent Quality.
Paper is nice and thick, with a premium feel to it. This was used for my notes at work in an engineering environment. Recently it's taken a retirement from note taking at that job as no longer working there.
However still using it now and again. Restarted using it for drawings, actually went through my order on amazon so I could purchase another one.

Ich habe mir dieses Notizbuch gekauft, um eine andere Art von Diabetes-Tagebuch zu führen. Mich hat es immer gestört, dass bei den Standarthefte für Diabetiker nur Platz für die Messungen sind.
Hier kann ich selbst entscheiden, was ich reinschreiben möchte. Werte, was habe ich gegessen, Stimmungen usw.
Dadurch das die Seiten so dick sind, kann ich zusätzlich Zeichnungen mit Filzstiften machen, ohne das diese auf der nächsten Seite zu sehen sind.
Da das Buch flach liegt, erleichtert es ungemein Linien mit einem Lineal zuziehen, falls dies nötig ist.
Wenn dieses Buch voll ist, werde ich mir definitiv wieder ein Lemome-Notizbuch bestellen, aber dann mit Punkten statt kariert.
Apropos die Linien sind nicht sonderlich dunkel und verschwinden daher fast hinter Zeichnungen.

Bellissimo diario. L'ho scelto a quadretti per farne un bullet journal illustrato, perché i quadretti fanno da piccola griglia di riferimento spaziale, e sono tanto lievi da non dare fastidio. Quindi avevo bisogno di molte pagine e che la carta fosse sostenuta a sufficienza per reggere pennarelli e colori di vario genere. Questo diario è un A4, quindi grande, ha moltissime pagine, 90 fogli cioè 180 facciate, e la carta è spessa, appunto: 125 di grammatura, come i fogli da disegno di buona qualità e la penna scorre che è un piacere. Si apre perfettamente, così da rendere la scrittura molto agevole. La sua tasca interna è utilissima, io ci tengo tutte le cose importanti, come richieste mediche, scontrini eccetera. E l'elastico lo tiene ben chiuso con tutto il suo contenuto. È davvero ben fatto e non se ne trovano di così accurati a questo prezzo: meno di 13 euro per un diario/sketchbook/notebook/bullet journal così bello è un vero affare. Lo preferisco ai Moleskine e d'ora in poi comprerò solo questa marca, ne ho già messi nel carrello altri 4 con altri tipi di copertine (ce ne sono a chiusura calamitata e colori meravigliosi). Non vedo l'ora che sia il 1 gennaio per iniziare a usarlo. Consigliatissimo!
