- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2016Anyone taking the chance with these CDs or the book needs to understand that this material is informed by Buddhist thinking. I bought these CDs after reading "No More Mr. Nice Guy."
While the Women's Movement has given women a language and structure to help them expand their concepts of self and roles, there has not been a Men's Movement that created a context for men. A context in which to feel comfortable with the animalism of our biological nature and a conceptual, and more importantly, and interpersonal place where we can explore our capacity for caring, compassion, and healthy emotion. Do women want to be respected, of course. Might respecting them with their affirmative consent also mean ravaging them with our love, strength, and passion...of course, yes. Much misunderstanding, sadness, isolation, and regrettably misdirected anger arises from not understanding how to successfully share ourselves with others. I learned a new perspective.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2016I honestly think that this was better than the book, although the book is by far one of the best books I've ever read. I am now a "Deidabot" as they call us online. I have learned an unbelievable amount of information about my relationships and my own life in general from this material. I don't see things as "xyz" or "abc" anymore - I see them as masculine and feminine, and using this new "model" in my reality has allowed me to SEE the how I use my energy in my day to day life. I understand my bad habits are a need for feminine energy, and my need to exercise is my need for masculine. I can "tune" my energies to this new model and it is very inspiring.
Will be adding more Deida material to my library.
Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2009When I first started listening to these CDs I thought this guy was a space cadet but the second time through I starting getting the message and vibe. I now really enjoy his philosophy and am very glad I purchased the book on CD. Your relationships and communications with women and the world can be improved. Good Luck
- Reviewed in the United States on July 1, 2014good book,. read it, then listened to audio version.. Deida, has a pretty strong "Vally Boy" accent.. as in "gag me with a spoon" kind of twang... I feel more like a hippy after listening to his metaphysical-ness talk some sense into my macho ass... but in the end,. i did get a lot out of this -one of a kind- book,... may even go to one of his courses... if you are not having good lady relations get the book.. he will show you how to not be such a chump. (if you are reading this you may be a chump).
I bet I'm the only person to use the word "chump" in the review of a self help book... but the book was so good it deserves a different kind of review word.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2013I greatly anticipated the arrival of this audio book. I quickly discovered though that the teaching sessions are not an abridged or unabridged version of the book but rather an expounding of its principles. I'm sure I got every idea presented in the book and then some though. I've never had a harder time getting through an audio book! I'm not averse to new age lingo and feel good fluff but this book was just plain rediculous. First of all his voice gets annoying very quickly and I think quite literally every sentence ends with the phrase "give your deepest love" or "from your deepest heart" or "give you deepest gift". It's like meeting someone at a party who thinks they know everything and they rant and rant and rant in a stream of thought flow rather than delivering a coherent and distinct message. He actually poses a question at one point to the effect of "would having one sex partner help you to give your deepest gift or would several sex partners be needed?" Let me discuss that with my wife and see how she thinks I should give my "deepest gift". By the way, can the phrase "give your deepest gift" be any more vague and useless???? The book boils down to you being the masculine open ocean of nothingness and maintaining that connection while your lunatic wife/girlfriend/one of many sex partners (which is great too according to him) runs around acting psychotic and complaining because thats what the feminine aspect does! The feminine is a wily tornado of emotions according to Deida. Apparently every woman, when not in her masculine, is effectivly a spoiled 13 year old drama queen. He even alludes to the imagery of Shakti standing over Shiva's dead body holding other heads in her hands and states that men should maintain this blissful death state in order to cope with the manic feminine energy. But the solution to all this complaining, at least one of them, according to Deida, is to pin your woman down and "ravish" her repeatedly. I wanted to enjoy the spiritual aspects of this book, and am very versed in the Eastern spiritual concept of masculine God essence being vast uncreated with the movement of creation being feminine, but this book puts a terrible spin on that. Please dont waste your time on this. I really hated it to say the least.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2017Love Deida and his way of understanding men and women and female and male energies. I originally bought his book of this title to get a better understanding of men and their male perspective but it really helped me to understand myself better as well (I am a woman). This recording gives great examples and is very practical. I like the individual and pair exercises he gives at the end. Not to mention his soothing and rhythmic voice that is nice to listen to. I would recommend this to both men and women as he covers both energy types even though he is addressing it mainly to men.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2011I purchased the CD's for the car and the Kindle e-book on Amazon. I got it last Friday, I'm half way through the book and today I got through all of the CD's on my drive to and from work.
So far I feel like I've learned a lot about the way I think and how I can change myself without making demands from my wife asking her to change.
This can be really insightful for women to read. I purchased a couple of David Daida titles and I can't wait to get those and read them.

2.0 out of 5 stars Wishy washy nothing
I had high hopes for this book but i really got nothing from it. I ended up turning it off half way through - I couldn't take it any more. Far too flowery and wishy washy to offer any real advice.
