- Reviewed in the United States on November 26, 2018Platform: PC DownloadEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseI liked the little discount for the weekend special. I was used to buying other expansions that included a 30 game time card, this did not. However I was prompted to spend gold I had build up and saved, previously playing the game, and it cost me 117000 gold deducted from my combined characters on my old main server. Big download, so I had to wait to play it until the next morning. Gameplay is different, I was used to the old talent point system, alas I had 10 lvl 100 characters, max level garrisons and shipyard. I did the only thing thinkable without having to take time to vendor unusable items that I thought had meaning. Created the new class. Tutorial started at 98, to get you to 100 with a slow intro back into the game. Auction house prices are pretty high with how long this game has been around. I hope to play more soon, but not like the hardcore grind years past. All I know is I am spending remaining gold saved on biggest affordable bags, and whatever flight trainings to keep me moving fast. Game looks good, no lag, I already enjoy the storyline again.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2020Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseI haven't played since legion and I read the reviews from other buyers and thought I would pick up a copy. A lot of the reviews are negative and from what I could read with the progress of the game I thought it might be. However I bought a copy at 8.3 and thought it couldn't really be that bad. It is.
I love to PVP and yeah its a mess. The PVP system is completely broken. As a fresh 120 PVP gear is impossible to get and doesn't do much of anything. In order to catch up you have to run mythic which for a casual player like me is just... dumb. Why invent PVP gear if it does NOTHING and you need to WIN every BG to get it? The PVP queues are always unbalanced and the pre-120 sync feature is worthless getting one shot for 40/50k by a hunters Aim Shot.
The Corruption gear is garbage. It gives you a buff but takes something away which is fine, but there is no way to purge it until 120.
As a fresh 120 a lot of the Assaults are rough without 400 + gear on some classes with very little reward. I end up getting the same gear I had with a lower item level if I run raid finder.
Then there is the dumb necklace that you have to level which is a replacement for artifact weapons. The necklace gives you some perks which some classes need to do OK however you need to jump through hoops as a fresh 120 to get them.
Then there is a long painful cloak quest you need to run which never seems to end and you have to run weekly assaults to level it up to wipe out the corruption level.
I would wait and not give Blizzard any money towards this expansion.
I will stopped my subscript about two months in. I couldn't handle the garbage pit of an expansion. The raids are meh, and the story meh, with a meh dungeon and questing system.
I would not give Bliz ANY money towards this expansion. Wait for Shadow Lands but I doubt it will be any better unless they keep going with garbage pit BFA ideas.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 16, 2018Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseThe game is great, don't get me wrong -- A LOT to do, and very well put together. Music, story, zones, and everything else is quite amazing. The issue I have is with the game box itself, Blizzard definitely cut corners to save money there..... cheap for a company that is raking in tons of money from this game and others. I am not really a collector, but I have been holding on to WoW game boxes due to how well crafted they were..... you could say, every box was a piece of art.
If you were hoping to get a quality game box, forget it. Blizzard screwed everyone over in that department. Greed ftw /s
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2019Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseIs this a good expansion? Absolutely. Was legion better? Well technically, and any major complaints were rectified with 8.2. I'm only been playing a few months but I have come to enjoy BFA. They've taken a lot of the good features from legion and even characters and races from expansions over the last 15 years and put them into latest iteration of World of Warcraft.
A lot of people like to hate on World of Warcraft because they say, "it's too easy and casuals are ruining the game" but often times those same people don't have . I think the game's been engineered well for players of all types.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 10, 2019Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseWhile this is just the base version of the expansion, compared to the digital download, this comes with a few extras including a 20% discount on the wow shop, (not important to me at all, but for some...) and a nice sized BFA themed notepad. Really, the digital copy is certainly more eco-friendly, you do get some small extras with the boxed retail copy. If you are expecting a disc in this day in age though, you'll be a bit disappointed. Still have to download it from the website.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2019Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseI regret re-activating my account. I am a vanilla player who would play a average of 12 hrs a day and rush to play this game after work. I would eventually stopped doing this after other App video games stole my attention away. I should have trusted my instincts and not bother getting this expansion. I’m a big fan of storylines, but it seems Blizzard Activision hasn’t cleaned up the mess they made. Game wasn’t fun and I had to force myself to play it for a month before calling it quits. I won’t bother listing my grievances, I’m done. To the rest of the players who enjoy this, kudos to you all and have fun.

1.0 out of 5 stars This Game Had ‘Expired’
Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseI bought this game and when I tried to download it, the game key had expired. I’m not sure if it’s suppose to be a collectors item or something, but I was disappointed when I couldn’t even play it. There should be some type of label saying that this game isn’t actually playable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good buy for digital code.
Platform: PCEdition: StandardVerified PurchaseGame arrived in great condition.
My problem is the low star rating as it was just a game code inside not the disk like I wanted.
